Introduction

Hello everyone and welcome to Screenwriters Depot. I would Like to take a moment to introduce myself, my name is Luke, and I'm a screenwriter. I've written several shorts and right now I'm working on a full length.

I started this blog because I noticed that there really weren't many places on the web for screenwriters, novice, professional or those who fall somewhere in between to gather and discuss the process of screenwriting.

There are plenty of places for novelist and Poets, but hardly any for screenwriters and hopefully this blog can be our gathering place. I would like for this blog to be a place for  all writers to come and talk about their projects, teach, share ideas, maybe even collaborate. Once again welcome and I hope to hear from you soon.

Tips For Developing Characters

Creating realistic characters is one of the most important task a writer has It doesn't matter the genre or medium, rather it be screenwriting or novels if the characters are not believable the story has no chance. The characters should be relatable. Even the most extreme characters have that one grain of truth running through them, it keeps the character and the story grounded.
